The first Istanbul Tanpınar Literature Festival (ITEF) will take place between October 31st and November 3rd.
The American author Adam Fawer, who has been on the bestseller list for months, Nawal El Saadawi, a leading Egyptial writer, feminist and activist, Cristina Fernández Cubas, author of In Istanbul with Agatha, and the Dutch writer Geert Mak, whose 1200-page In Europe has taken the book world by storm, are just four of the 52 foreign writers from 32 countries participating in the festival.
Apart from well-established Turkish and international authors, is happy to present 23 young writers of the Word Express project in its programme. Word Express is a new project for literary exchange in South-East Europe, coordinated by the UK-based Literature Across Frontiers and Delta Publishing in Istanbul, as part of the British Council’s Creative Collaboration Programme. In a region marked with past and present conflicts, Word Express aims to cross cultural and linguistic boundaries and bring new literary voices of the region to the fore.
The festival will offer book lovers many events ranging from literature coffee breaks with "Hare", readings at D&R bookstores, panel debates, book signings and interviews taking place at the Istanbul Book Fair TÜYAP, to the festival closing party at the famous Ghetto Club, where some of the writers will entertain the crowd as DJs.
Opening with a majestic ceremony on the evening of October 31st at the Cıragan Palace Kempinski, the inaugural Istanbul Tanpınar Literature Festival will explore the theme of "City & Time".

Surprised side of Istanbul ...
Where you look old and historical city of Istanbul.
Everything is in place maybe. But the search to find many products as possible.
One element of beauty worthy to Istanbul. Sunset and sunrise is not surprising that so extraordinary is not possible.
